Workshop 1: Sprouts

Come participate in the first of a series of workshops called “From the Garden to the Plate” that will unite the energies of the rooftop garden and the Santropol Roulant kitchen!

Come participate in our work session next Thursday July 6 (4–7pm) and attend the third summer workshop in the garden : Plant health.

Ever wonder what those weird brown spots are on the bottom of your tomatoes? Come learn the basics of urban plant health growing in containers - how to identify diseases, deficiencies, bugs and excesses of nutrients and what to do about it! Join us! New volunteers welcome!

The EnChanted Garden is a series of workshops that will take place every tuesday on the roof where we will have fun with singing, improvisation, and movement. We'll sing for the plants and see if it makes them grow better! (I know it'll make us grow better). We invite everyone of any musical ability to join us in song and play. Remember, if you can talk you can sing, if you can walk you can dance!

Join us for the second meeting of the Jets, the Rooftop Garden discussion group! We’ll hear from three members of the project who went to the World Urban Forum, and discuss the role of municipal governments in urban agriculture and greening. The event is also a potluck, so come share food and get to know us !

Do you think that plants grow better when they receive love and joy ?
I don’t know either, that’s why we’ve proposed a new experiment on the roof :
Virginie Baysse invites you to join her on the roof to find out. Come exactly as you are, it doesn’t matter if you know how to sing or dance or not. We’re just going to have fun together playing with sounds, movements and sharing our joy with the plants.

When: Every Wednesday, from 6:00 to 7:30 pm
Price: $10 ($8 for volunteers). Some proceeds go to Santropol Roulant. 5-class passes also available.

This invitation is principally for new volunteers and volunteers who have taken part in a few activities this season but have never attended a presentation of the project.
